The Evil Weed VW Trike
Cuppa’s trike is one of the most distinctive and original projects I have ever been involved in.
When he came to see me armed with books on carnivorous plants and desire for a green and red scheme, I knew that the result would never be shy and retiring. We settled on a House of Kolor pearl green, over laid with marbelisers, then a gold candy to give a really organic feel to the paint. The veins, and various airbrushed spines, jaws and teeth, were then painted over the top.
Cuppa has since travelled the length and breadth of the UK and Europe, where the trike has won numerous plaudits, appeared in many magazines and been on display at the N.E.C Bike Show in 2004. It still draws admiring glances wherever it goes, as well as going like the clappers. Thanks also go to Horst for these stunning photos.
